Tattoos & the Mark

“Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the Lord.” Leviticus 19:28

“And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

Tattoos are incredibly popular with 40 percent of Americans under 40 providing their skin as a palette for tattoo artists, with a massive number of customers in a $1.65 billion industry in 2014, and those figures have increased. While tattoos are not inherently evil, I’m starting to believe that they have the potential to be used for great evil in the end times. So, the question on most Christian’s minds is, “Are tattoos the mark of the beast?”, and the answer is a resounding – NO! Could they become the mark of the Beast as prophesied in Revelation; potentially – YES! There is new technology for permanent and temporary tattoos that can do remarkable things.

“It's possible, for instance, to use ferromagnetic ink in tattoos, ink that responds to electromagnetic fields. A couple years ago, Nokia patented a technology that would enable the ink in a tattoo to interact with a device through magnetism. With this technology, your phone could ring and you could literally feel it through your tattoo.” (Adam Estes, 2014) 1

“LED tattoos are made up of silicon electronics less than 250 nanometers thick, built onto water soluble, biocompatible silk substrates. When injected with saline, the silk substrates conform to fit the surrounding tissue and eventually dissolve completely, leaving only the silicon circuitry. The body won't reject the electronics which can be used to power LEDs that act as photonic tattoos.” (Adam Estes 2014) 1

“It could be used to track children in crowded places, they say, or for soldiers who need to have their condition monitored in detail. They could also be used for purchasing -- just like Apple Pay.” (Emily Reynolds, 2015) 2

Young’s Literal Translation refers to these tattoos or “marks upon you” from Leviticus 19:28 as a cross-mark or annoying, or vexed mark. Pagans used cuts and tattoos to mark their skin for occult, religious and other symbolic reasons, so God was telling Moses to prohibit these marks, so he did and wrote it into the Old Testament Law. I believe the current resurgence in tattoo popularity is a prelude to the mark of the Beast. It’s preparing our society for the prophesied requirement of a mark, and I believe it will be a visible mark, not a hidden electronic chip. It will be a clearly visible mark on the hand or forehead. So, how can a person know if they are taking the mark of the Beast? It’s real simple:

  1. It will be accepted by the individual willingly.

  2. It will be clearly visible.

  3. It will be required for all buying or selling.

This new technology we have today is not the mark of the beast, but could be just the technology needed during the tribulation. So, if all the Christians, infants and toddlers disappear and a very convincing individual requires you to willingly take a mark in your skin in order for you to buy the things you need to survive, say – NO! If you say yes, you will forever be condemned.
