Without Natural Affection

The passage below from 2 Timothy is prophetic. It speaks of the end times, or the perilous times ahead. Many would say that we are already experiencing the end times. Others, like me, would say that our society can get much worse, and it’s headed to that demonic point of no return at breakneck speed. Case in point: the Lindsay Clancy tragedy that left three children dead, a murderous mother indicted, and thousands of women saying that it was a justifiable mass murder due to drug- and circumstance-induced insanity. This solidarity with a confessed murderer is without natural affection. Killing your own children is without natural affection. What do I mean by that? Exactly what I believe. It is unnatural, demonic, lacking in morals and ethics, and an abomination.

2 Timothy 3:2-4

2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

Without Natural Affection Through Self-importance

For men or humankind shall be lovers of themselves, according to this prophecy. This sin worsens every year. We are to love ourselves in an honorable and humble way, not a narcissistic way; not full of ourselves and thinking we are right when everyone else is wrong, and we are superior to others. I also see covetousness increasing: “I don’t have what they have; it’s not fair; they should be forced to give that to me too.” What a load of bull feathers! You have what you earn, and no one owes you anything. Thank God for what you have and don’t expect more.

Then there is excessive pride, like these women saying, "I’m a queen, and I should be treated like a queen." No, if you have that much boastful pride, you are a slave to your narcissism, covetousness, and pride. God hates pride and a prideful look, so humble yourself and repent of your sin of pride.

Blasphemers are people who speak disrespectfully, irreverently, or with contempt about God, Jesus, or the Holy Spirit. Don’t use God’s name in vain; don't badmouth the Father, Son, or Spirit, and don’t reject, desecrate, or condemn anything in the Bible.

Obey your parents! In my experience, this latest crop of children, starting about 30 years ago, runs the house, disrespects and disobeys their parents, and treats everything their parents say as a suggestion, not an authoritative command. Wives do the same to their husbands.

If I yelled, “Quick, get out of the house; we need to leave now!” My wife and most wives would look at their husbands like they're crazy and start questioning why. Then, while you’re outside, safe, the tragedy that you were trying to save your wife from would take her life or cause her physical harm. Ladies, your husband is hardwired to protect you. If you hesitate and question why he’s trying to save you, you will reap what you sow from your disobedience. He will not be at fault. The same thing goes for children. They must obey without thinking, knowing their father is yelling orders at them to protect them.

People are becoming unthankful and unholy. They don’t care about generosity, grace, or mercy. They are ungrateful for what they have and always want more. The biggest problem is that they think they deserve more and deserve what other people have, without regard for how hard that person had to work to get what they have. It flies in the face of holiness and common sense. We are called to be holy, not ungrateful, self-absorbed narcissists.

Without Natural Affection

I described these sins to explain why people lack natural affection. Their thoughts are about themselves, their needs, their wants, their desires, and their personal gain. Their thoughts, day and night, are about themselves. Trying to rid themselves of perceived burdens to satisfy their own wants and desires.

I watched a video today where a woman encouraged other women not to have children. She said it’s not worth it because she has no time for herself, to do the things she wants, to enjoy the things she used to enjoy, to go out for supper, and other drivel that was completely self-centered. She never said her child was a blessing, a gift from God, or a wonderful addition to her family. It was disgraceful, ungrateful, self-absorbed, disgusting, and unbiblical.

Being without natural affection can mean not having normal or natural feelings or respect for others in various situations. For instance: murdering your children, aborting your children, having sex with a person of the same gender, having sex with animals, loving your dog or pet more than family or friends, loving yourself more than all others, etc. All of these can be summed up with the word narcissism. All of these are unnatural. Only someone who is steeped in unnatural affection could do these things. Unfortunately, it’s becoming normal behavior for those who either don’t know any better or are in direct rebellion against God.

These people are trucebreakers (break promises or agreements), false accusers (false witness), incontinent (a lack of self-control), fierce (violent), despisers of those that are good (disdain for righteous living), Traitors, heady (impulsive), highminded (self-important), lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

Those That Are Without Natural Affection

All of these traits describe a person with unnatural affection. They care about things, their own wants and desires, and often could care less about anyone else. This is not what God designed, engineered, and created us for. We were created to honor God and others first: “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.” Matthew 22:36-40 KJV. This is why we exist. So, if you see yourself in any of the sins or characteristics of sinners listed above, please repent and obey God, not your own desires. Why? Because you are not God, and God has infinite knowledge and wisdom. You can’t outthink God, and your righteousness and wisdom are as filthy rags and nonsense.

Conclusion

We must do God’s will according to His Word, the Bible. Doing anything else invites trouble, trials, and tribulations. Living without natural affections is an abomination. Natural affection can be defined as loving God first, everyone else second, and yourself last, and as the instinctive, familial love and loyalty shared between family members, such as parents and children or close relatives. Key words: Lawful, natural, normal, ethical, appropriate, and Biblical.
