“For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor? Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again? For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.” (Romans 11:34-36)
The problem with many Christians and all others, whether professing a religion or not, is that they think they are more intelligent than God. But, who can know the mind of God. God is the ultimate planner and organizer, but people still insist on making plans for God. Who has the knowledge and intellect to counsel God, well, no one, because He is all knowing, but people insist that they know better than God. Who has ever given anything to God that He doesn’t already have. Remember, He does not only know all, but He is everywhere throughout time, always. He knows the beginning from the end and the end from the beginning, so even our pledge to follow Christ is something He knew from the beginning. So, we cannot know His mind, we cannot explain anything to Him that He doesn’t already know, and we cannot give anything to God that He doesn’t already have.
Romans 11:33 NASB, says it best, “Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways!”
Instead of trying to force our will and feeble knowledge on an all knowing, all powerful, omnipresent God, we should simply trust and obey Him through knowledge of and adherence to the precepts within His Holy Scriptures and the leadership of His Holy Spirit.
