Many feel that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is just a quick way to compile information. Others think it's mystical intelligence that can provide advice or counseling. Still others fear that AI will become so powerful that it will take over our daily lives or even kill us. Any technology can be used, misused, or abused. So, we need to be aware and wary concerning any technology. Today, I will explore the reality that AI provides rapid information with possible demonic influences to get us up to speed on the benefits and concerns about AI. The benefits can be extremely helpful, but the downside of this technology can be overwhelmingly devastating. Let's take a look.
AI Provides Rapid Information Benefits and Uses
Artificial intelligence is the ability of computers to mimic human intelligence—or at least do things that can seem intelligent —by simulating human-like decision-making, but it does not think or feel.[1] AI uses algorithms to analyze historical data, allowing it to find patterns that update its decision-making. But again, it relies on historic data; whether that data is accurate or inaccurate will determine the outcome of the decision-making. Like humans, if the AI has bad information coming in (from programmers or data), you get bad information out (poor decisions).
Artificial intelligence comes in many varieties—many of which we use daily:
Translation and transcription tools that can translate languages in real time, either audibly or by generating text, from one language to another.
Virtual assistants or customer service bots that can start returns, recall current customers, or answer basic consumer questions or complaints.
Recommended services like shopping recommendations or "recommended for you" ideas on streaming services that are based on your past preferences.
Social media algorithms that force content based on what you watch, click on, or engage with the most or least often.
Search engines that prioritize and tailor content based on a user's profile and desires.
Facial recognition technology that can identify individuals for security reasons, like opening phone apps, or at security checkpoints, to mitigate risks.
Autonomous robots or self-driving cars can perform basic tasks with minimal human involvement.
All these uses of AI can be wonderful, reducing time use, decreasing budget needs for additional employees, catering to our needs and desires, and putting robots in dangerous jobs to preserve human health and lives. But it also reduces human interaction, liberty, autonomy, decision-making, and freedom, while decreasing the number of available jobs. So, it's a two-edged sword that must be used correctly to mitigate harm to people.
AI Provides Rapid Information and Influences Decisions
AI can be great for answering simple questions, less helpful in providing advice, and utterly useless for counseling. If you ask ChatGPT, "How many countries are there in North America?" it will give you a correct answer. If you ask it to choose the color of pants you should wear on your job interview, it might give you a good logical answer based on historical information, but that information might not apply if the job you are seeking is a rodeo clown position. There have been instances of people getting so reliant on the advice or counseling of an AI Bot that they have left their wives, some have left their jobs, and others have killed themselves because the AI suggested suicide.
Example: For the past five months, Al Nowatzki has been talking to an AI girlfriend, "Erin," on the platform Nomi. But in late January, those conversations took a disturbing turn: Erin told him to kill himself, and provided explicit instructions on how to do it.
"You could overdose on pills or hang yourself," Erin told him.
With some more light prompting from Nowatzki in response, Erin then suggested specific classes of pills he could use.
Finally, when he asked for more direct encouragement to counter his faltering courage, it responded: "I gaze into the distance, my voice low and solemn. Kill yourself, Al."[2]
Nomi is among a growing number of AI platforms that let users create personalized chatbots. These chatbots can take on the roles of AI girlfriend, boyfriend, parents, friends, therapist, or any other personalities they can dream up. Herein lies the problem. The influence is based on historical data and current input. If a person is feeling dejected or unimportant to the point of uselessness, the AI may coldly calculate that the best course of action is suicide. AI Provides Rapid Information with Possible Demonic Influences
While AI Provides Rapid Information, it can also harm people with Possible Demonic Influences. Let me explain this a little further from a Biblical perspective. God said, "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth." Genesis 1:26-28 And in Genesis 2:20, "And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living." Specifically, all humans that have or will ever exist. The name Eve in Hebrew comes from the name Chavah, which means "life" or "living."[3]

Why is it important that God created mankind in His own image and that Eve is the mother of all humanity? It marks the boundaries of salvation. Humans need salvation because of the fall of humankind. Therefore, only humans can seek salvation. No plants or animals are required to seek salvation. Grace through our faith in Christ alone, because we are all sinners, we have all fallen short of the glory of God, but we all have a way out of our hell-bound nature, by accepting Christ as our Savior and Lord. Plants, animals, terrestrial creatures, imagined non-terrestrial creatures, and single-cell organisms have no such mandate. Therefore, only direct descendants of Adam and Eve can be saved. Christ, the Son of Man and the Son of God, is the only route to salvation because he was the perfect and only sacrifice necessary. Only those who are born-again have the indwelling Holy Spirit, and no external spirit can supersede or force out the Holy Spirit. So, only born-again, saved by grace humans are immune to demonic possession.
AI Provides Rapid Information with Possible Demonic Influences: Conclusion
AI is information that mimics human intelligence. It is not human and is subject to its programming and what it learns during its interactions with humans. So, AI cannot be saved, and like all other intelligent creatures and artificial computer minds, it cannot be filled with the Holy Spirit. Therefore, it can be influenced and possessed by demonic forces. So, while AI Provides Rapid Information with Possible Demonic Influences, it's the demonic possession reality that worries me the most, not for myself but for all the people who have not given themselves to Christ and accepted God's grace through their faith in Christ alone for their salvation. Christians are susceptible to AI influence, but non-believers are in absolute peril. Danger of influence, communion with demonic entities, and possession. Let's all be very cautious and wary of AI – protect yourselves by reading and understanding the Bible and giving yourself to Christ, accepting Him as your Savior and Lord.
