Apostacy the Falling Away and the State of the True Church

Today I’m going to share about Apostacy the Falling Away and the State of the True Church. The short version would be that the apostasy (the rejection of sound Christian Doctrine) and the falling away (people departing the church) were prophesied. 1 Timothy 4. That being said, allow me to give you the explanatory version. But let me preface this by saying, everything occurring in the church today is a direct result of dismissing sound doctrine and embracing human thoughts and ideas. What do I mean by that? When people think their own wisdom is superior to God’s wisdom, horrible ideas become manifest.

Apostacy and the State of the Church

Simply put, sound doctrine is obeying the Word of God as it is written, without any external documentation or man’s wisdom added. Apostacy is the abandonment of sound doctrine and embracing man’s wisdom. The problem is, quite frankly, that human wisdom is often stupid. That stupidity compared to God’s wisdom is like the difference between night and day! People are profoundly ignorant compared to God, so why should we listen to all this “New Wisdom” coming out of churches today? We shouldn’t!! We should only listen to God and only through His Holy Bible.

The current state of the church is manifest in a “falling away” because of this apostasy. Adherence to sound doctrine is in sharp decline. This error leads people to believe that Christianity is based on hypocrisy, so they leave the church. Why would anyone want to be associated with people who don’t practice what the Bible teaches? No intelligent person would accept this hypocrisy, so they leave the church.

Falling Away and the State of the Church

The “falling away” is not only due to apostasy but also due to the massive influx of “man’s wisdom” into the church. The following statements are examples of man’s wisdom entering the church.

  • Critical race theory – this nonsense is clearly manmade because God says all humanity is one race, 1 Corinthians 15:38-40, Acts 17:26, Genesis 3:20. With only one race, the critical race theory falls apart as yet another stupid human idea.

  • The notion that the Bible is not entirely true is heresy and apostasy because Christianity requires that you believe the entire Bible. If you don’t, you are not only trying to add man’s wisdom into Christianity but also, you’re calling God a liar and casting doubt on His message. Revelation 22:19, 1 John 5:3, Jeremiah 7:23. We must live in obedience to God’s Holy Word.

  • The notion that Jesus didn’t live a perfect life – If Jesus hadn’t lived a perfect life, Jesus would not be the perfect and all-sufficient sacrifice for all of humanity. Hebrews 10:1-14.

  • There are many ways to heaven idea – This notion is preposterous to anyone that has actually read the Bible. There is only one way to heaven, and that’s through the Son of God. Romans 6:23, John 14:6, Acts 4:12.

  • Salvation through works notion – This idea is also preposterous because we, as humans, can never be worthy of heaven of our own accord. The atoning sacrifice of Jesus is the only thing that saves. We are saved by God’s grace alone, by faith alone, in Christ alone. Working your way into heaven is an exercise in futility because heaven requires perfection. We can never be perfect, so we cannot enter heaven. But if we accept Christ as our Savior, His perfection is imparted to us by God’s Grace. Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 3:28.

  • There are many other apostate abominations, but I’ll stop here for now.

Apostacy the Falling Away and the State of the True Church

As you can see, the apostasy and falling away go hand in hand. If the church had not brought in human ideas like evolution and other non-Biblical notions, people would not be leaving the church. Now, I’m specifically talking about the Western world – Europe, America, and others that have taken on this crazy notion of “higher thought” and the other things I’ve mentioned. In other words, the people that think they know more than God and choose their thoughts over God’s wisdom. Countries in which people actually read and study the Bible are not affected as much by this nonsense. But the absurdity is spreading fast.

The Bible is the truth. Read and study the Word of God. Obey the Word of God. Live the Word of God. This obedience is not legalism!!! Legalism is making the Law your God and obeying the law through misguided obligation for adherence’s sake. On the other hand, following the Word of God is an act of love and worship. So, in heartfelt love and worship, demonstrate your love for the Lord Jesus Christ through your obedience. The true church obeys the Lord out of love, not through obligation, even though we are indeed obligated. If we have accepted Christ as Savior and surrendered ourselves, proclaiming Him as our Lord, we will obey our Lord. The Bible is very clear on this. But the only way you can know the truth is to read and study the Bible for yourself.

Have a blessed day!
