Science Fiction False Beliefs That Irritate Me

I love science fiction. Lately, I’ve been listening to Sci-fi short stories on YouTube. I enjoy the imagination, the stories, and hearing about imagined worlds and things in the vast universe we live in. It’s exciting and fun, but if your worldview isn’t rock-solid, some of these stories written by secular people may sway you toward their worldview, philosophy, and ideas about science. As I’ve heard these stories, I have noticed recurring science fiction false beliefs that irritate me. Obviously, as a Biblical creation Christian, evolution is the first and most irritating false belief. Virtually every science fiction story includes a reference to evolution. The second most prevalent false belief in these stories is that pre-marital sex is good and accepted as normal. The third thing I noticed is that inner-species breeding is acceptable, if not optimal. For instance, a human breeding with a lizard woman to produce offspring. All these beliefs or fantasies are godless ideas and sinful. Perhaps, one day, I will write another sci-fi story with Christian values. But first, let’s discuss these three Common False beliefs that irritate me.

The Ridiculous Theory of Evolution

Molecules to man evolution is being rejected by even the most atheistic secular scientists. These nonreligious scientists and scholars doubt modern Darwinian theory, including former U.S. National Academy of Sciences biologist Lynn Margulis, medical professor Raymond Tallis, Rutgers cognitive scientist Jerry Fodor, and others. Also, review “Atheists Against Darwin.”[1] They would love another theory, but most have concluded that either the creation created itself, which they understand is impossible, or they must believe a self-existent God created everything. Most would rather die than believe in God because they want to remain the god of themselves. They will not bow to God or accept Christ as Savior, Lord, and God. This is to spite the clear evidence that natural laws require a Law Giver, and information must come from a mind, specifically, God’s mind. If the information came from aliens or other worlds, you would have to ask, “Okay, well, where did their information come from?" The only conclusion to this conundrum is that all information came from our all-powerful, all-knowing, present everywhere, always, self-existent God. The Creator, Master, and Sustainer of everything that ever was or will be. Genesis 1:1, John 1:1-3

As I’ve stated before in another article, only the direct descendants of Adam and Eve have access to heaven through Christ.[2] So, if there were sentient aliens on another planet, God would have had to make special provision for them to get saved or born again, if necessary. Perhaps a similar path to salvation, but with a Jesus born of a different species on another planet. All I know for a fact is that our Jesus, the fully God and fully man Jesus, would not satisfy the salvation of another species because the other species would not be part of humanity. I would just have to assume that God would do whatever was necessary to be the righteous, merciful, loving God that He is. I’m specifically saying the evangelism of aliens would be a useless exercise of futility, because they could not be saved through the path God created for humanity.

I don’t believe there are any aliens out there. I believe God created everything to demonstrate His sovereign power and glory, and created our world for us and no one else. So, neither terrestrial nor extraterrestrial evolution is possible. And if God created extraterrestrial life, His plan of salvation would be different or unnecessary. Humans are the sinful creatures in need of salvation.

Premarital, Indiscriminate, and Morally Deviant Sex

The fact that many of these Sci-fi stories freely demonstrate premarital sex as normal and acceptable really irritates me. Sex should only happen between one man and one woman after they are married. From that point on, they have sex with only each other until death parts them. So, this precludes homosexuality, fornication, adultery, incest, rape, and bestiality. All deviant sexual behavior is forbidden by God and punishable by eternal separation from God. In other words, you end up in hell. Fortunately, if you repent of your sin and ask God to save you and forgive you, you will be saved. 1 Corinthians 6:9-11; 6:18, Romans 1:28-32, Exodus 20:14, Hebrews 13:4

The biggest problem with these stories and our society is that people have normalized and often even celebrated these sexual sins. I know it’s a bit vicious, but every time I hear or see a story, a podcast, or other media portrayal of an implied sexual sin, I either think or say aloud, “whore slut.” I exclaim this about both men and women. So, I don’t discriminate, even if it’s fictitious aliens, I say the same thing. Fortunately, I don’t say this to people, because that would be rude and hateful. I try to be kind and informative about what the Bible says about their sin. They either listen to or ignore me, but that is their prerogative. My job is to share God’s word and let God reap the harvest according to His will.

Interspecies Breeding in The Sci-fi Stories

This interspecies breeding in sci-fi stories goes back to early movies and TV shows like Mr. Spock, a hybrid of a Vulcan and a Human, and Alexander, a hybrid of a Klingon and a half-Human, half-Klingon, who was 75 percent Klingon and 25 percent Human. This sounds fun and interesting, but it’s physically and physiologically impossible. Aliens would have different genetics, anatomical structures, blood types, and almost certain genitalia incompatibility. God forbid interspecies mating because it’s gross, it’s unproductive, and it’s sinful. Remember, the only sex that God condones is sex between one man married to one woman; everything else is sinful. Leviticus 18:23, Leviticus 20:15-16

In these crazy but interesting stories, you experience diametrically opposite couplings between humans and humanoid cats, foxes, dogs, lizards, dragons, and many other species that could never produce offspring. But often, someone gets pregnant and carries the little hybrid to term, and the hybrid is healthy and perfect. This outcome is pure nonsense. Most hybrid animals on Earth are sterile and suffer various physical problems. Remember that not all the male and female genes are passed down. That’s true of the child of a human couple, but in a hybrid, just imagine the genes that are lost from the coupling of two similar creatures of the same created kind that create a hybrid. Information is lost, not gained. Interspecies breeding in humans is sinful and illogical in stories. If a human copulates with anything other than a human, that is called bestiality, and God forbids it and calls it an abomination.

Science Fiction False Beliefs That Irritate Me: Conclusion

If these sci-fi stories get too graphic or sinful, I turn them off and go to the next story. I can do this because I have read, studied, and understand what the Bible says. My discernment is excellent, and I can spot the logical fallacies and lies. Unfortunately, most people cannot. They read or hear something that sounds reasonable and believe it. They get caught up in lies and half-truths, and they normalize sinful behavior. The only way to avoid this gullibility is to read, study, and understand the Bible. You must also read and study science and apply it logically and biblically. Otherwise, you will be deceived.

I pray that God grants you discernment, logic, and an unquenchable thirst for Biblical truth, which is the only truth that matters. If these Common False beliefs irritate you too, please leave a comment.
