The Overwhelming Generosity of God

For some, it is hard to understand The Overwhelming Generosity of God. He gives gifts to everyone. Without regard for their political ideations, their goodness or evil, their socioeconomic standing, and more. He is generous to everyone, although that generosity may vary. He provides everyone with life. Further, he provides everyone with air to breathe. While often there is want and need that goes unanswered, that’s almost always caused by people sinning against people. For most people, life and the pleasures of this world will be their only reward. But that’s not how it has to be. You can have the pleasures of this life and the perfection of heaven, just by accepting a simple gift. The following verse from the book of Matthew shares God’s wisdom. Jesus also teaches us to care for everyone.

“Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.”

Love Your Enemies

Loving your enemies is easier said than done. But Jesus said, “Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;” so it is what we should do. Furthermore, this task has a purpose. It shows bad or evil people what is good and reminds good people what is right and true. So, it is part of a Christian’s witness and as non-Christians see this behavior, they become curious. This provides an opening to share the gospel. This gives the Christian the opportunity to lead someone to Christ. Which, is the greatest gift of all, not only from you to them but from God to them. The greatest gift of all time.

The Overwhelming Generosity of God

God freely gives to both the evil and the good. But also provides additional blessings on those that accept His Son as Lord and Savior. The Overwhelming Generosity of God provides gifts in abundance for everyone. Some might say, “oh, but what about that starving child?” Well, God gifted them life, their first breath, possibly their first caress from their mother, their first meal and more. “Oh, but what about that aborted baby?” Well, as I understand the scriptures, that child has not had the opportunity to hear the gospel and also has not had the understanding of or chance to sin. Therefore, they go straight to heaven. God is generous with absolutely everyone in some way. And if you accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, accepting the free gift of grace through your faith, then God’s generosity continues eternally.

I lift up, praise, and honor The Overwhelming Generosity of God. Praise the precious and holy name, Jesus!

“May the God of Love and Generosity, Jesus, the Almighty God, bless you with the wisdom to obey the Holy Bible. And if you haven’t accepted Christ, that you do so before it’s eternally too late. In Jesus’ name, Amen!”
