There are many people living today that think Christianity and all religion is an unnecessary crutch. The Communist Karl Marx said, “religion is the opiate of the masses,” and he meant it in a derogatory sense. He felt that people needed it to cope because they were not “enlightened” enough to do without religion. This new Black Lives Matter organization is a Marxist organization that believes as Karl Marx did that religion is the enemy. If you can strip away the people’s religion, you can control them by making the government their “religion.” Unfortunately, this will work on people that profess faith but have no deep personal rooting of faith. But, there will always be a remnant of true believers. Or will there be? Who Can Eliminate Christianity?
Abbreviated History of the Attempts to Eliminate Christianity
The Sanhedrin, with the help of the Sadducees and the Pharisees, attempted to stop Christianity. First, they used questions and scriptural tests, and then they proceeded to lies and deceit. Finally, they just falsely accused Jesus and had him arrested, beaten, and crucified. This effort might have killed the average “start-up” religion. But, Christianity is not a “start-up” religion. It is deeply rooted in Old Testament truth and prophecy. The religious leaders of the time didn’t recognize the correlation. The apostles also thought that without Jesus, there was no sense in going on, so they went back to they’re old jobs. Then on the third day after His burial, Jesus rose from the grave. See Acts 10:39-43. Jesus provided a course correction for the Apostles. Then Christianity grew. The Romans tried to stop Christianity, Socialist and Communist nations have tried to stop it and failed.
Now, false religions that look similar to Christianity but preach a false gospel draw people away from the true path. And even worse, false teachers within “mainstream” Christianity teach an apostate “watered down” message that has little to do with the Gospel. Through all these attacks, a remnant of the church remains. So, what can eliminate Christianity from the world?
Who Can Eliminate Christianity?
God alone can stop Christianity. He will end what we know as Christianity at the Rapture of the Church. See 1 Thessalonians 4:17. This removal of the Saints (born-again believers) will precipitate the advent of the seven-year tribulation period. Without Christianity and the Holy Spirit of God holding back evil, then lawlessness, lasciviousness, and chaos will flourish. This chaos leads humanity to do “every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.” As in the days of Noah in Genesis 6:5. Something similar to Christianity will have to be restarted for a brief period by the Tribulation Saints, but they will be beheaded for their faith, according to Revelation 20:4. So, if you’re on the fence and trying to decide to accept Christ as Lord and Savior, please don’t hesitate.
There is absolutely no chance you can make it through the tribulation. This is because of the strong delusion spoken of in 2 Thessalonians 2:10-13. Only those that newly discover the Gospel during the tribulation will have the opportunity to be saved, and virtually all will be beheaded. You have a better chance of winning the lottery 20 weeks in a row than you have in surviving the tribulation. So, accept Christ today before it’s eternally too late!
What Can Eliminate Christianity? God! But then what?
God alone will command the day of the rapture of the church, and Jesus will meet us in the sky. Everything on earth will change, starting with chaos and then lawlessness, and finally the wrath of the Almighty God. After the tribulation, Jesus will return to rule and reign over the entire planet. Revelation 2:27 says about Jesus, “And he shall rule them with a rod of iron;” in other words, he’s not going to put up with any shenanigans or lawlessness. I don’t know if the followers of Christ will continue to be called Christians or not, but the current form of Christianity, in my opinion, will not exist. During the tribulation, the Antichrist will give humanity a ray of hope, but it will be fleeting and disastrous in the end.
By the end of God’s wrath (the tribulation), at least half the population of the earth will be dead. The rest will be thirsty, starving, diseased, and destitute. We currently have a global population of about 7.8 billion people. Just imagine half of them dying horrible deaths.
Accept Christ today! Not because of God’s coming wrath, but because Jesus loves you and died for you so that you would never have to live through something so devastating and horrific as God’s wrath.

God loves you! John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
We are all sinners: Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”
We can be redeemed through the willing substitutionary sacrifice of Jesus: Romans 5:8 says, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
All may be saved: Romans 10:9 says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

Lord, I confess that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus died for me, and on the third day after his death, he rose from the dead and is alive today. Please forgive my sins and accept me into your kingdom. I receive your free gift of grace through my faith in you. Amen!
