The Day of the Lord

Most people, including Christians, have no idea about the sequence of events that will occur according to the Bible. But the Bible is so prophetically accurate they should be show interest. The Bible has been 100% accurate with every prediction, so dismissing it is crazy. As Christians, we should already know this. But it is not being taught to many Christians. If you are not a Christian, you should show interest in what the Bible says will happen simply because of its prophetic accuracy. In the next few paragraphs, I will attempt to share with you the events that will proceed the Day of the Lord and the events that follow but let’s start with our scripture references.

“But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?” Also see Zephaniah 1:7-18 and 1 Thessalonians 5:1-11

The Day of the Lord Preached from Every Pulpit

The fact that the Lord will come, like a thief in the night, should be preached from every pulpit but it often isn’t. This first event is the rapture. For those of you that don’t know this term, it means to be snatched away quickly without warning. As Christians, we know this will happen but we don’t know when and will never know when. One day, or night, we will simply disappear from the face of the earth. As said in 1 Corinthians 15:52-53, “In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.”

It should be preached from every pulpit so that the congregation can go out and share the good news that others can come with us. And also share that being left behind will be a fate worse than death.

Events Following the Day of the Lord

A period of confusion – People will wonder what happened to all the people that vanished and their confusing will manifest in fear, anger, violence, sorrow, and even more confusion as the media speculate on where millions of people went.

Economies will fail – The loss of millions of people will plunge the world into financial chaos. Businesses will instantly fail, governments will quickly fail, and the global economy will fail.

The 7-year Tribulation – There will probably be a period of time that passes after the rapture and before the tribulation, but it could start at that moment. The Tribulation will be a period of time of God’s wrath that everyone on earth will experience. It will be a time that results in wars, famine, disease and the death of over half of the earth’s population.

The end of Satan’s ability to manipulate us – This will happen at the end of the tribulation. Satan will be in chains and put in prison in the bottomless pit for 1000 years.

The Millennial Reign of Christ – Jesus will return to the earth with all the angels and Christians. Jesus will be the ruler of the entire world for 1000 years.

The release of Satan – The release of Satan to manipulate people into following him. He will amass an army for the final battle that will never really occur. Because at the battle of Armageddon Jesus will speak and the entire army of Satan will drop dead. So, there will not really be a battle of Armageddon. Because God only wants loyal subjects that are willing to serve Him. So, those that would follow Satan just don’t fall into the category of people who willingly serve God.

The Judgement – Jesus will judge Christians for their service to Him and they will be given rewards. God will judge all those that are not Christians. Those whose name is not in the Book of Life (the register of all loyal followers) will receive eternal punishment. Cast into the Lake of Fire for eternity. Fire consumes the heaven (universe) and earth – 2 Peter 3:10-12 says God will reduce all of creation to the elemental building blocks of the universe.

A new heaven and new earth – God will recreate a new heaven and a new earth. Therefore, all those that are born-again believers, by God’s grace through their faith in Him, will live a perfect life of willing service, in a perfect place, and with perfect eternal bodies.

Not a Fairytale

Many people will read what I just wrote and assume I’m just telling a fairytale. But you must remember that every single prediction made by the Bible has come true. So, you must assume that God’s 100% accuracy rate will continue. Believing the Bible is 100% accurate is as easy as opening your eyes. Not believing in the Bible is like assuming there is no air to breathe on a bright clear day. It’s just crazy to Not Believe. Approximately 27% of the Bible is prophecy and it is 100% accurate.

The Day of the Lord When the Christians Depart

Christians will not be present on earth for the 7-year tribulation but will leave in the rapture to serve Christ eternally. Only Christians who accept Christ during the tribulation will have to experience the tribulation. They will, unfortunately, experience the horror of the tribulation with all those that reject Christ. So, it is profoundly important – an act of perfect love, to share the gospel of Jesus Christ, as well as share what will happen in the future. People need to know so that they can make an informed decision. Please love people enough to love them straight into heaven by sharing the gospel. You are not judging them or forcing your thoughts and ideas on them. You are providing them information so they can make an informed decision. Love them enough to help them avoid the tribulation and receive eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.
