The Authority of Scripture

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:” (2 Timothy 3:16)

The entire Bible, all scripture is inspired, inerrant and infallible. Many Christians and even more non-Christians question the scripture’s inerrancy (truthfulness) and infallibility. It’s an alarming trend that continues to grow. To spite this trend, literary science, archeology and other research continues to prove the authenticity and accuracy of Scripture. The Bible is the most studied, tried and tested piece of literature in existence and we can trust it completely.

The scriptures are inspired by God. It was given to the authors of the various Biblical books through inspiration directly from the mind of God to the minds of godly men. It is profitable for doctrine including policies and procedures for our Christian worship, churches and organizations. It is profitable for reproof and correction, so that we can correct those who fall short of the doctrine of the scriptures, with mercy and respect. Scripture provides the best tool for instruction in righteousness, bringing us to a clear knowledge of how we should live, raise our children and care for our neighbors. God is so wise, good and full of love for us that he gave us the scriptures; his love letter to us, so that we can know his perfect and precious will.

Open your heart and mind to God’s scripture and be inspired to share them with anyone willing to listen.
