Race and Racism are not Biblical

Race and Racism are not Biblical, and during the three thousand plus years that the Bible was being written, their concept of race was much different than ours. When they thought of race, they thought the Greek race, or the Egyptian race, or the Syrian race. They didn’t care about your skin color or facial features because they knew that people within the same race or ethnic group could have a wide range of features. It was not until the theory of evolution popularized by that doofus Charles Darwin that race based on features was developed. It was that evil theory that causes the current hatred and consternation between peoples. So, what is the truth, according to Biblical Scripture?

From the Beginning Race and Racism is not Biblical

Genesis 3:20 says, “And Adam called his wife’s name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.” We are all direct descendants of a real Adam and a genuine Eve. People who actually existed and are not allegorical. They had children who had more children, and the human race was born. Therefore, the only race is the human race. After the tower of Babel, the people finally filled the earth, as commanded by God, and created the various ethnicities we recognize. The Greeks are distinctly Greek; the Japanese are distinctly Japanese and the Americans are distinctly American! Acts 17:26 says, “And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation.” We are all of one blood, and are who we are in accordance with God’s will.

The Human Genome Project

While the Bible is the ultimate authority, we also see corroboration from science. The Human Genome Project and subsequent studies have determined that we all descended from the same two people. Our genetics will not allow for multiple races. But the diversity that God instilled into the first two humans has allowed for the diversity of different ethnic groups. All one race but with different cultures. So, we have science agreeing with the ultimate source of truth, the Bible. Consequently, we are all of one race and are all of one blood without question! The Human Genome Project found that the genetic differences that determine physical features (straight hair vs. kinky; skin tone, broad nose vs. slender nose) make up only 0.12% of our genome. In other words, twelve one-hundredths of one percent. We are one race! The Human Race!!!

Race and Racism is not Biblical – Love Each Other

There is no reason for people to act and react violently towards others just because of facial features, accents, or beliefs. We, as Christians, should be loving every person we meet right into Heaven. We can do that by caring for them and sharing the Gospel with them. We need to set aside differences (because they are irrelevant) and love each other. And there is nothing more loving than sharing the Gospel. Let’s gather together as one race and get as many people into Heaven as possible, in accordance with God’s will and to His glory. Amen!
