Narratives of Deception

From shortly after the beginning of humanity, Narratives of Deception have permeated our society. These deceptions are wide-ranging, and some are incredibly patient and insidious. They all have one thing in common, though – they are in direct violation of God’s Word and deceive Christians. Again, this is nothing new. It all started with Satan’s deceptive discussion with Eve. From there, the deceptions snowballed into mountainous heaps of lies. In the next few paragraphs, I’ll share just a few, but this devotion will by no means be all-inclusive.

Evolution is One of the Narratives of Deception

Under pressure from actual operational science and Christian creation scientists, many secular scientists acknowledge the intellectual bankruptcy of evolution. It is physically impossible for random molecules to come together to form complex life forms. Life forms including, bacteria, fungus, and other supposed “simple lifeforms.” Because they are all very complex. Amillennialism is a Newcomer to the Narratives of Deception

As little as 50 years ago, most Christians believed in a Pre-tribulation rapture of the church. Then enter, the Amillennial teachers. They think that the 1,000-year reign of Christ is figurative, not literal. They believe that we are in the 1,000 years right now, even though we’ve been experiencing it for over 2,000 years. They do not believe in a bodily resurrection, and only the spirit is resurrected. They also feel the millennium started at Pentecost. They also believe that the earth will be remade instead of eradicated and a new earth created. They also consider Satan already bound, but I see no evidence of that in today’s society. I believe all these are narratives of deception because in all my studies of scripture, the conclusion of a pre-tribulation rapture, a tribulation, and a literal 1,000-year reign of Christ on earth to be unquestionable.

Abortion is a Woman’s Right

This “right” is one of the most overtly ignorant narratives of deception. Before Joshua, under the direction of God, invaded the promised land, God provided a warning. The warning was from the Law, Leviticus 18:21, “And thou shalt not let any of thy seed pass through the fire to Molech, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the Lord.” What this represents is sacrificing your children, especially to false gods. Today, people sacrifice our children to several gods, including the mother goddess of Wicca or witchcraft. They also sacrifice to the god of selfishness and self-worship. And don’t forget the false god Satan. Satanists also sacrifice children within their repulsive rituals. Further, they sacrifice to the god of evolutionism that says that a baby is no more or less important than any other random animal.

Humans are created in God’s image, and fearfully and wonderfully made, so we are vastly superior to other animals. So, abortion is murder, and no abortion is acceptable. Some claim that it’s okay in the case of rape or incest, but think about it – you are pronouncing the death penalty on a person that committed no crime. You are condemning an innocent bystander that was powerless to prevent the pregnancy and had nothing to do with the crime. Killing the innocent, catering to your delicate feelings, and your rage against the perpetrator is unacceptable. The baby did nothing wrong. Conception simply happens by God’s will and to His glory. God has the master plan, and His will is perfect, so the conception is part of God’s plan. Our limited minds have trouble understanding God’s plan, so we must trust in His perfect wisdom.

Socialism is Better than Our Current Free-Market System

Socialists call for government-funded free money, free healthcare, jobs for everyone, and equal pay. First, let me say that every one of these things is profoundly stupid and unbiblical. From the beginning, after the fall of mankind, we have been compelled to work for what we have. See Genesis 3:17-24.

Please understand that the free market system is straightforward. If you work hard and you pay attention to trends and marketing strategies, you can succeed. Now, are there some people that will never succeed? Yes. Oh, but what about them? Shouldn’t we provide for them? That depends. If a person is clinically intellectually inferior or has a profound psychological diagnosis rendering them incapable of doing any job, they should have our support. If a person has legitimate physical limitations that make it impossible for them to work, yes, they should be cared for, and they are a tiny fragment of our population. But all those that are capable of working both mentally and physically should not get anything handed to them for free. Handout programs are manifestations of Satan’s work in our society. Proverbs 18:9 says, “He also that is slothful in his work is brother to him that is a great waster.

Narratives of Deception

This list is just a shortlist of the current deceptions within our society and our churches. Yes, even churches are falling for this nonsense. Some of these Narratives of Deception are being preached from the pulpit. For instance, support for Black Lives Matter, Inc. The BLM organization is Marxist, communist, anti-God, Antichrist, seeks to abolish all religion except the worship of the government and government leadership. So, why in the world would any American support this deplorable organization? It makes no sense to me. So, if you are one of these pastors supporting this organization, please stop, do some research, and repent! Because in reality, they hate black people, and bunches of black people have died in the riots caused by BLM and Antifa. If you support them, repent!

Don’t give in to these Narratives of Deception. The Bible is very clear on all these subjects, so read, study, and obey the Bible. Remember, if the Holy Spirit tells you to do something or believe something, test the spirit. 1 John 4:1-3 tells us to see if what this spirit is saying to us professes Christ or not. In other words, the Bible and Jesus himself is the Word of God. So, if it’s not already stated in the Bible (John 1:1-3), then whatever that spirit is telling you is a lie and you’re listening to an evil spirit and not the Holy Spirit. So, know the Word and test every spirit. Any unbiblical narrative is a narrative of deception.

Luke 21:8 says, “And he [Jesus] said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.” Satan and his minions are everywhere and trying to deceive us every day. They deceive by calling themselves Christ, or little gods, by saying they have a word from God, but that "word" is unbiblical, and many more deceptions. Stay in the Word and test every spirit.
